Icon has a wide selection of RV waste holding tanks to choose from, including 6 drain styles and many different sizes. Our tanks can be used for black and/or grey water.
We are also having problems with our Norcold refrigerator-it is a double door with ice maker. We were told to adjust the doors as they become uneven while towing, which we did. The left inside of the door, the buttons that look like bolts are very hot like something isn't cooling properly.
We have tried contacting Carriage, but were told our warranty has expired after 2 years. We did purchase the unit new. We hope you can shed some light on how to repair, and without a high tech bill. We did check the fuses, and that seems to be ok. We do love our unit, but are frustrated with the problems we are having. We hope to hear from you. Thank you for your time and assistance.
Aug 12, 2010 Slide Out Problems In Our Carriage 5th Wheel by: robbie I'm going to need a bit more info to assist you with the slide outs. Are they electric or hydraulic?
On the control panel, is there a name and can you describe it to me? Do you hear any noises/clicking when you try to close the slides?
Also, I am a Norcold Service Center and have never heard about adjusting the doors. The heat you are feeling in the left door is a heater installed by Norcold to prevent sweating, I'm not sure what model you have, but some have a switch to turn the heater off if it bothers you. Hope this helps a bit. Good luck and feel free to add some more details so we can possibly be of more assistance.
Robbie Warford. Sep 02, 2010 Slide out issues by: Dean Compton Look under your Carriage in front and/or behind the wheel areas and you should see some 'zippered pouches' looking like they lead up into the floor area. Inside those zippered areas are the mechanics of your slide outs.
From there you can manually crank in and out the slide outs after releasing the break catch on the motor. Without additional information, I can not effectively help you in the right direction in diagnosing your problem but since 'Carriage' slide outs are primarily electric over mechanical, your problem lies with one of those issues.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Sep 30, 2010 landing gear motor by: fred I have a 1997 carriage-carrie lite 36ft. I recently tried to buy a coupler for the landing gear. It goes between the motor and the gear system. Our dealer in Brandon, Mb used to be a carriage dealer but are no more. They couldn't find the part-couldn't even find the manufacture of the landing gear motor or didn't care.
I emailed the main office of carriage, but no response. Roger at the service end refered me to some other company. And they can brag about there products? I won't buy another carriage. Oct 01, 2010 Landing Gear by: Dean Compton I'm really sorry to hear about your unusual experience with 'Carriage.' They have always been very accommodating and helpful and have sent me information, repair products and even called me on the phone to assist me in assuring I got the right part while I was on the road.
It is very strange that you would have such an experience with them. I really can't say enough great things about their support and their products. I have had several different 5th wheels, and read the pro's and con's on many others as well as the manufacturing companies and I again, have to support 'Carriage' as being one of the best.
You might try calling Sandi (service) @ 1-574-642-1487 or Dave (Parts) 1-574-642-1481 (EXT 1481) Again, I am truly sorry to hear of your experience with Carriage. I would give them another try. Safe Travels. Nov 13, 2011 Carriage full wall slide issues by: Anonymous The Full Wall Slide (FWS) system has several micro switches which must 'all' be in closed loop before the FWS will function.
There area two of them inside the lower area where your kitchen trash container is next to the cabinet wall next to the floor. One of them provides the 'Stop position' when closing and the other provides the 'Stop position' when opening. There is also one more micro switch behind your bedroom door next to the bathroom wall which will only allow the FWS to operate when the bedroom door is full open and locked into the open position position.
This prevents the FWS from closing in on the bedroom door in the event you forget to close it. I helps this helps. If not, please feel free to contact me at: [email protected] Good luck and happy travels.
Nov 13, 2011 Carriage Company out of business by: perfect-5th To all Carriage owners. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT 'CARRIAGE INC' IN INDIANA USA IS NO LONGER IN BUSINESS. You may have to contact your dealer for parts and service. I was told by our dealer that those who did purchase the extended warrantee will be covered by each Carriage Dealer as agreed per the contract. Too bad since Carriage builds one of the best 5th wheels on the market. We can only hope some reputable company will purchase the company and maintain the high standards Carriage has worked so hard for.
Aug 02, 2012 2008 carriae domini slide out by: donald wyrick I have a 2008 carriage domini when they manufactured this trailer they did not cut the hole in the trailer for the slide out room correctly they cut it to small. So now I have to have it repaired for a cost of 6,000.00 dollars. I believe that this should have been caught by quality control and fixed before it left the factory. The reason that I bought a carriage is that I thought that they were a quality coach, boy was I fooled!! Not a happy camper!!! Jun 21, 2015 Slide Out does not operate by: Anonymous I have a Sprinter 2004 RV with 2 slide outs, one for the bedroom and one for the living area. The slides are Lippert Systems.
There is only one button to activate the slides. The living slide is extended along with the bedroom one. When pressing the button to close the slides, the bedroom one closes and then a clicking noise is heard. The living area slide does not move. After I pressed to open and the bedroom one opens and then clicks when fully open, but nothing on the living one.

Sep 19, 2015 Slide Problems Fixed! By: Anonymous I recently purchased a Carriage CW374 from a private individual, expecting to have a great time on the road. Much to my surprise 3 of the 4 slides did not come in or go out properly. I also learned quickly that one of the landing jacks wouldn't go down all the way.
I was totally disappointed. So I called UltraFab, the maker of the motors for the jacks and spoke to Randy in the service dept. He told me to check the 3 nuts that held the slide motors in place, and the 4 nuts that held the jack motors in place to make sure they were tight. Low and behold, the nuts were loose on every one of them.
I used a 7/16 wrench to tighten the nuts and everything is working great. Thanks Randy! Hope this helps. Jul 11, 2016 Cameo long slide by: Larry Rydberg I don't know if my other comment went through.
Long slide didn't come in. It's 77 miles away. We have made phone calls and on the Internet. No luck where motor is or solutions. We are going down with information we have received. Here are three numbers I have. 269-503-3783, 269-503-0542, 269-270-1425.
We are going down to change out switch and fuses along with checking micro switches along with checking voltage. I'll keep you posted.
Larry Rydberg. Sep 21, 2017 Wall Slide - Won't NEW by: Dave Bought a 36 Max1 new in 2011.
Have had our issues but love the unit. Wall slide has seemed to have gotten 'draggy', sometimes 'stuck' open or if we didn't open all the way it 'stuck', 'clicked' under the steps. Eventually got it to close with shore power, or waited a while and retried with success. Now open and will not close. Thought it was the batteries, 1 yr old RV special, tested under load, fine. (Can't understand why they don't show as fully charged in the control panel,a 2nd issue.) Slide 'clicks' in the area near the motor under the steps.
Bedroom door open all the way. In May, repair shop said slide went in and out several times couldn't find a problem to fix.
Where are the micro switches to check and how can you test them? Is there more than one motor? Where are these 3 bolts to tighten that was mentioned? Oct 10, 2017 Wall Slide-Won't 'Fixed' NEW by: Dave Found the problem, slide was not all the way out.
Located the access to the motor through the wall in the basement. There is a hole in the backer board. Find the soft spot in the fabric or remove part of the wall to see the hole across from the motor. Cut a hole in the fabric. Flip the manual switch off (above entry door), a few turns with ratchet and socket to took it all the way out so the micro switch by trash hit the wall and closed.
Turned on the manual switch and the slide worked fine. Welcome to Money-Saving-RV-Repair.com! Like the name implies, this site is all about helping you save money while keeping your RV in tip-top shape-and that is all about you having the knowledge to do so. I've been a technician in the RV industry for 30 years, operating out of San Diego, California. And let me tell you, I love my job. But I also love empowering RVers with the knowledge they need to make the right decision on repairs, or to make the fix themselves-and that, my friend, is the reason for this website.
I hope you enjoy.
Alpenlite had the best owners manuals in the RV industry IMHO. Since Western RV is closed, the only source would be an owner of an Alpenlite of a model in your year vicinity. Alpenlite's manual contained all kinds of stuff, including wiring diagrams, etc. There used to be an owners club sponsored by Western RV but I have not heard of them for a long time. Do some Google searching starting with Alpenlite owners club, etc and you may find them.
Also, there were a couple of parts dealers on the left coast that bought all of Western RVs stuff when they went belly up. Maybe you can find them too.
